Located in Arusha National Park, Mount Meru rises to 4,566 meters (14,980 feet) and is the second-highest mountain in Tanzania. It’s less crowded than Kilimanjaro but offers breathtaking views, rich wildlife, and a dramatic crater rim. Trekkers often see giraffes, buffaloes, and monkeys along the trail. Mount Meru is also a great warm-up climb before attempting Kilimanjaro.
